  • Scope of work entailed the installation of 130 no 750mm diameter rotary augured piles to an average depth of 25m.
  • Duration five months

Concentrator Project

  • Located in Chililabombwe, Zambia
  • Total number of 2,000 Driven Cast Insitu Piles up to a depth of 12m
  • Started in November 2006 completed May 2007

Smelter Project

  • Located in Chingola, Zambia
  • The scope of work entailed a total in excess of 5,000 Driven Cast Insitu Piles up to a depth of 15m.
  • Commenced April 2006 completed November 2007.

General Description of work
Dura Soletanche Bachy have completed several major piling projects in Chililabombwe and Chingola involving over 7,000 piles.
Grinaker/LTA appointed Dura Soletanche Bachy as specialist piling contractor at the Konkola Copper Mines No 4 deep shaft in Chililabombwe, Zambia.

Dura Soletanche Bachy is also supporting KCM in their drive to provide more local employment b y providing training to local labour.
Dura Soletanche Bachy is extremely proud of our involvement wit the installation of over 5,000 piles for the foundations at the smelter.
